Drop in at Alexandra Palace on Saturday 22 May to take a look 'behind the scenes' and catch up on some of the local community groups to find out what they are doing.
The free open day, from 10am to 4pm, includes stalls hosted by the following groups, all showcasing what they offer the local community:
City & Country Farmers' Markets
NHS
Friends of Alexandra Park
Muswell Hill Sustainability Group/en10ergy Ltd
Alexandra Palace Organ Charitable Trust
Muswell Hill and Fortis Green Association
Trust Library
Alexandra Palace Television Society
Hornsey Historical Society
Meeson House
There will be tours of the BBC Studios, which are not normally open to the public, offered on a first come, first served basis, as well as an historic film of the BBC studios to watch. It will also be possible to peek inside the derelict Victorian theatre and there will be organ demonstrations throughout the day.
The open day also provides another opportunity to view the exhibition which recently toured the borough. Giving an insight into the history of Alexandra Palace and Park, it also provides the chance for people to give their views on how it could be developed in the future.
Visitors can also take the opportunity to find out about hiring rooms and halls at Alexandra Palace for meetings, weddings, parties and other occasions.
"This is a great opportunity for the local community to get a taste
of all that Alexandra Palace has to offer and the way we interact
with groups, associations and other organisations in Haringey,"
said Cllr Pat Egan, Chair of Alexandra Palace & Park Board of
Trustees. "We hope to welcome lots of people and most especially
those who may not realise what a great asset having Ally Pally on
their doorstep is."
