Where can I get fresh turmeric locally?

I've been told some type of Vietnamese supermarket. Anywhere close come to mind?

Not specifically Vietnamese but there's a great oriental supermarket next door to The Eaglet pub on Seven Sisters Road. There's some wonderfully obscure food for sale in there. It might be worth a try.

Cheers Poxy. That's exactly where I went but they didn't have it. I love that place. T'was a zesty healthy chicken broth thing but my mate insisted I use fresh turmeric with it and was generally a bit crazy about fresh turmeric. Apparently you can freeze em up too. So when I do finally see some I'll have a freezer full of it.

You need to go to the indian supermarkets on Turnpike Lane (the bit between Hornsey Rail & Turnpike Lane tube.

I get loads of Indian cooking stuff from there, and the veg is really good and cheap too.
