Our next book will be [Troubles](
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troubles_(novel)) by JG Farrell.
It was published in 1970, and this year won the [Lost Booker Prize](
http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/booksblog/2010/may/21/jg-farrell-troubles-lost-booker).
Bloke in Guardian says: "Farrell's portrayal of the fast-decaying Majestic Hotel and England's even more rapidly crumbling rule in Ireland surely adds up to one of the best books of the last half-century, let alone 1970."
We will be meeting in the Faltering Fullback on Thursday 19th August at 8pm. Come and argue with my oversimplified opinions!
Would be lovely to see old hands as well as new faces.
(Could you make this sticky please?)

I'm looking forward to coming this eveing although I won't have finished the book. Very impressed by what I've read so far though....
I tried to do that too but was foiled when a drama erupted. So I haven't finished the book but planning to come anyway.
