Rubbish Collection (Quernmore Road @2330 daily)

edited August 2010 in Local discussion
Maybe I've just noticed it because of the hot nights / windows open, but why does the dustcart come round to Quernmore EVERY night at 2330: flashing beacons, reversing beeps, engine thrust, smell and all...?

Health & Safety for the beeps and flashes, I imagine. Never mind how much ill-health and how many accidents can be linked in part to sleep deprivation, it's still Health & Safety.

Contact the Environmental Health Officer at the Council. The rubbish collection contractors shouldn't be picking up rubbish this late into the evening - we had a similar issue when commercial waste was being picked up around midnight every Sunday (although they stopped pretty quickly). You may be asked to put together a diary of when this happens, and someone from the Council may need to come round to your house to see this in action.

Work has been ongoing in the last month or so on the council houses in our street. All fine, and nice workpeople doing it that are really well supervised. However, they have skips to put the rubbish in provided by a contractor. The collection and swapping of the skips by the skip company has been at 6.45am with the whole beeps and clanks that it entails. Annoying.
