My mum frequently goes out nettle picking, it makes surprisingly delicious soup, a bit like spinach, and not so nice tea. If anyone did that on the Parkland Walk, they would have soup for the whole winter.
I emailed one of the Lib Dems on the council about another matter and mentioned the ridiculous council blackberry police from the post above while I was busy ranting. They hadn't heard anything about it, but are going to check with the Parks Department as they reckon it is a tremendous waste of resources and money if true. We'll be able to blackberry in peace soon!
I'm really not sure. The councilor I emailed said he hadn't heard of it, but was going to check it out and get back to me. I've never seen any inspectors on the parkland walk so perhaps it is a SG.org rumour!
Should we not be concerned about the asbestos and other train track chemicals that must be in the soil up there it was an “industrial” site which I don’t think has been cleaned up?
