Well Oiled festival, Sat 11th Sept

edited August 2010 in Local discussion
My good neighbour, Alex, is running an event in the park soon so thought I'd pass on the info: "A day of activities for all ages promoting energy awareness through art, exercise and info. Join us in Finsbury Park for creative workshops, bike rides, fun runs, fresh food and gallons more. The central goal of Well Oiled is communication: the festival aims to creatively convey environmental issues and the message of Peak Oil to a wide audience while celebrating localization projects already operating in the N4 area." With Saturday fast approaching I thought I'd give this a bump in case it got lost amongst the posts.
  • I got this from one of the organisers....it should be a good day, especially if you have kids. Okay, we now have a free climbing wall: 10m by 10m, 8m high, courtesy of the Castle Climbing Centre. Then there's the children's 1K (only £2) at 11am; bike wash; family bike ride; 3 Dr Bikes; bike smoothie maker; bike parade; live weaving, knitting, cordage and jam making; drummers; pop up art gallery; mask and flag making; pop up art in the trees; growing from cuttings; harvest glut bring and take; locally made cakes and jams; and the amazing art installation along Parkland Walk from Alex - From Ignorance to Bliss. All you need to bring is a picnic, your dirty out of condition bike, your climbing shoes, any surplus harvest or produce and your good self (and friends). If the weather's no good we'll be at Stroud Green Primary school in Oxford Road.
