This quarter's Area Assembly is focusing on health and is in response to suggestions and questions from local residents... There will be lots of opportunities to hear and ask questions about health provision in Haringey, how to register at a GP; penalty shoot outs with the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation and the opportunity to find out about volunteering to help at the Olympics.
The Assembly will be on Saturday 4th September in Priory Park, Priory Road N8, in the old bowling green, close to the Priory Road gate.The event starts at 12 noon with a primary and community health fair promoted by Haringey NHS. Residents will have the opportunity to visit stalls to find out more about local services and participate in health awareness activities. These will include:
Cancer screening information
Diabetes prevention
Stop Smoking Team
West Haringey Patients Panel
Footcare etc.
We will have an Olympic Employment and Volunteering Hub, ‘Ask Coach’, providing interactive opportunities to engage with employment, training and volunteering opportunities associated with the Olympics.
From 2pm until 4pm, the area assembly meeting. The agenda will include:
1. Community Health and Primary Care Services, Update on the provision at the Hornsey Neighbourhood Health Centre, Olympic Jobs, Training and Volunteering, ‘Making the Difference’ Programme, Soap Box, Cabinet Question Time.
The various activities will close down at around 4.30pm.
