Just joined a website called Streetbank

It got a review in the Standard today. Seems pretty cool, I'm offering to let people borrow my strimmer and in return I get to see what people are offering for free and what they are up for lending. <http://www.streetbank.com>; Here's the review: A website that allows you to see what your neighbours will lend — or give away — is rapidly expanding across London. Streetbank.com is a “giant attic, garden shed, toolkit, fancy dress chest and library” for people living within a 1,000-yard radius of your home. The site, which launched in April and has been likened to Freecycle but with sharing and giving on a more local scale, now has 2,650 active members, up from 1,500 people last month. Sam Stephens, 32, a headhunter for charities who lives in Fulham, co-founded the site with friend Ryan Davies, 37, an IT specialist. He said: “I was cycling down my road one day, and saw somebody with a hedge trimmer. It seemed crazy to have a hundred households with a hundred hedge trimmers. “I'm pretty brazen, but didn't quite have the confidence to approach my neighbour because they were a complete stranger. So it seemed like we should have a website.”
