Has anyone else heard the fox which seems to do a circuit between the gardens on Osborne Road and Upper Tollington? Seems to go round and round several times in the night just barking and setting off all the local dogs.
@miss annie - Barky Fox would be a reprobate cousin, disapproved of by a number of aunts. There would almost certainly be a sticky incident involving Lord Emsworth, Barky Fox and a visitor from America.
Wonder if it's the one I often see up my way (north of Five Ways)? Last night it was going up Crouch Hill, going up the stairs to each hose to inspect the bins, turn up its nose at them and then on to the bins at the next house.
Yeah, I often see him crossing the road by the station.
There used to be one, then two, who sunbathed on the roof of Pappagone. Then one got hurt and went into a decline, and now I've not seen either for years.
You should meet my cousin, Peregrine Fox-Wosset. One of these days I'll get the old cove down from Highgate along the Parkland Walk. Nothing he likes more than mixing with the lower classes.
@Barky Fox
Come now old bean, you can't pull the wool over my eyes. I've heard tell of the Highgate foxes - prize stinkers each and every one. Do give us advance notice of Cousin Perry's visit and we'll make sure that the family silver and treasured whatnots are firmly under lock and key.
Toodle pip,
Miss A
Sorry to disappoint old chap but I went to a run of the mill comprehensive. That's no barrier to enjoying the spiffing adventures of Bertie and his chums and the various imbroglios that develop when Aunts hove into view.
As Aunt to a nephew myself I like to use the books as instruction manuals for keeping the young rascal in line.
I'm so dissappointed! I had this image of the inner elite meeting at the Stapleton or by the fire in the Noble and discussing the grammar mistakes of lesser people on here while stroking the Stroud Green badge of honour.
I like animal graffitti. There was a nice rabbit (could have been a hare) in Stoke Newington and there's the Banksy rat on Holloway Road. My favourite graffitti is the fairy on the wall in Charteris Road.
I met Barky Fox last night - at least I think it was him. He was sitting outside the gates to the old people's home next to the minicab office. He was very bold and didn't budge - he was almost blocking the pavement. He stared me out.
Description: fairly small for a fox, dark patches on his sharp foxy face, mangy looking.
After I got home I heard him barking for a few minutes.
