"he turned around and said" ..... did he? did he really turn a round? Was he going the wrong way, "forward" perhaps when he meant to go sideways. Is he Columbo, on his way out when he actually turned around and said "oh, just one more thing". I don't think so.

I don't mind that one so much. It's a not-too-ghastly contraction of 'having a meeting with', and useful as distinct from 'meeting' which could just be a hello in passing while getting off a bus, passing the same mural or whatever.

Now, Misscara, I know that you are in fact a most compassionate and kindly soul and I would never describe you as a hater. Camp Tesco annoys me too, although it's mainly the idea of people begging when have perfectly good accomodation as I avert my eyes from the rest of their general grubbiness.
