I tried to sign but unfortunately I live on the Haringey side of SGR and this is not allowed, apparently. As a cricket lover, I wish the petition all the best.

Aaargh. I've just tried to sign up but, even as an Islington resident, I can't. It keeps on saying that my postcode returns 'more than 100 matches' and to refine. How do you refine a postcode?

Edited to say that I've written to the Islington webmaster asking them to fix it.

Thank you for the support. It is frustrating the petition website does not seem to work smoothly but hopefully the problem will be solved. Agree entirely a 100+ signatures would be good. Islington Gazette is giving some coverage which should help.

Thanks to everyone for their support. The suspension has been lifted. LBI will put in place some improved protection for this year which will hopefully help the situation. They will monitor play during the year and see what further protection is needed.

Good news! I've never been there for the cricket. When does the season usually start?

Pacific CC first cricket this year will be on April 3rd - a practice double wicket tournament - the first match is April 16th. I don't know when Last Man Stands and Islington CC will start to play.

Those of use whose windows have been smashed because of the direction of the crease are less keen on signing. It's not really a big enough space for cricket, unless you can guarantee everyone being rubbish enough to never score a six. Some teams are quite helpful in that regard.

In all seriousnesss, how would I find out if there is a match on May 14th?
