The holy grail of burgers!

Since a few people think they will take a trip on the newly opened London Overground to check out #Meateasy, I thought I'd add a few others for the burger aficionados. A group of us go every month to a new burger place and so far, the best one in my opinion is at the Hawksmoor. We're a fan of Monkeynuts too. Its good for Sunday breakfast too - nice and quiet. One for another thread, but the missus had lunch in there with Brendon Fraser once, when he was here shooting Inkheart with Matt King, her cousin's husband.

Ok, this made me finally get around to writing my first comment. I'd recommend Stapleton. Not sure it's the king of burgers (can't imagine it's as good as Hawksmoor, but haven't been there yet) but it's local, really tasty and I think £9 inc chips, so I was impressed. And I promise I'm not an employee (or an estate agent). Just been a bit slack with registering.

Meateasy is very good. Get there very early, it was rammed by 6.30. Don't get fries they're dull dull dull, but get another burger to share instead (and onion rings of course). Quite delicious, and a very easy 40 minutes away. Not local, but...

Yes. It's fine, seems a bit slow but provided you've got something to do it's going in the right direction.

Me and her had burgers at the Shaftesbury last night and they were brilliant. The hand made burgers were seriously good and the chef himself asked how we wanted them. But the stars of the show were the chips. M'lady reckons they are the best she has ever had and we were even moved to find out how he does them. He answer was complicated. Just go. (£8.50 or, I think, £9.50 if you add cheese and bacon)

Just been on website interesting . In my opinion the burgers at Broadway market are the best & I still like Tootsies . I remember the first at Dingwalls Club Camden Lock & Maxwells in Hampstead.
As for Cafes I wrote :
The Front Room in Stroud Green [ Finsbury Park] does a mean coffee & carrot cake . Reminiscent of a sixties hippie cafe it entices everyone. Patisserie Valerie Soho & Marylebone has cakes to die for.

Also nearby is a French Cafe at Ronalds Road near Holloway Road / highbury Library .

As for Pizzas I wrote still can't beat Pizza Express such as Highgate for the Margueritta.Used to like Pizzeria Porchettas Stroud Green Road but do not take away well.

Cafe Khoa round the corner from Leicester Sq. station, south east exit Charing Cross Rd., next to Albery theatre, adjacent to J.Sheekeys etc.

Fergburger is better than Burgerfuel though. In case anyone happens to be in NZ and gets the craving.

Meateasy was mind-blowingly good. Best burger I have ever had. Same goes for the macaroni and cheese. I second what tosscat said about the boring fried though - don't bother. The onion rings were pretty substantial.

I've been to Fergburger in NZ and I've been to the Meatwagon (now Meateasy). Different styles of burger with Ferg going for the more gourmet approach and Meatwagon going for the perfect no-fuss burger. Meatwagon wins easily.
