This isn't Poxy, but Mills on his computer (catsitting). Thought we would all enjoy this link to a news story about the cinema that was Rowans bowling alley. Checkski - I know we share an interest in the history of the area and was thinking of you when I came to post this!

Was this the Majestic at some stage or was there a Theatre and a Cinema next door to each other

When I was a teenager the back row of the local cinema had double seats where many an attempted (sometimes successful) snog tool place !
I remember just before it became Rowan's there was a theatre production on and I got to have a wander around, most of it seemed to be in a bad state of disuse from what I remember.
The other vanished Finsbury Park historic movie theatre was towards the bottom of Stroud Green Road, just opposite the end of Woodstock Road, between Lennox Road and Morris Place (where the construction site is now). Until they started the redevelopment there were still some bits of masonry.
