I was cycling past and was wondering what is happening with the shop units. It seems like the floor level inside gets progressively higher as you walk down to the tube so the entrance has to be at the Worlds End end of the building so it can only be one large unit, if not and it is more than one unit there is going to be either quite a steep ramp or steps which is not great if your in a wheel chair.
Anyone know what is likely to happen with the shops?
Well that's entirely uninspiring. We already have Nisa and Budget Supermarket for small bits and a short walk to Tesco or the existing Sainsburys for bigger shops.
At least something like a Budgens may offer a little more variety.
Another Sainsburys, great. May as well not bother...
yup it's going to be a sainsbury's. At least, that's according to the builders who are always standing around pretending to give the appearance of doing nothing, when I interrupted them hard at work to ask this question.
A friend of mine looked at the show flat, apparently some of the windows face a brick wall (presumably side of JJ building?), she told them she'll come back for another viewing if they show her one with a normal view. As far as I'm aware, she hasn't been back.
Odd. Looking at the site-plan it’s hard to imagine how that could be. The flats start above the level of the existing John Jones structures, do they not? Regardless, the JJ scheme would remove any obstruction.
@Ali - i think the top ones might be smaller as you're effectively in the barrel roof?
@Arkady - haven't seen the flats myself, so can't comment. But in the KFH photo with the red pillows on the bed, where is that window facing?
