Stroud Green Oral History Project: Wikihistory

edited October 2011 in Local discussion
We've been talking for a while about doing a local history project. With a few of our threads (about the Corporation of Stroud Green, or the Blitz, or the history of the park, or Japan Crescent) people have got really engaged. So we've been thinking about a way to do this in a more interesting and structured way, using online and video, which involves the community and lets them record and remember local stories. We've met with the Heritage Lottery Fund and we're putting together a bid for funding on a project we've called "Wikihistory". I've met with a couple of people, including the Stroud Green Library and we've got some expert help in to run the project. One of the things that persuades them to fund a project are statements of support from the local community. So, do you think this is a good idea? Do you want to get involved? What do you think?
