Ground Floor Flat for a tea party

Hi there,
I was wondering... does anyone have a ground floor flat with a loo and a free Sunday afternoon? There's a charity that hosts tea parties for local elderly people. I would really like to do this however I have too many stairs.
I am happy to bake....

What a lovely idea - hope you find somewhere suitable (I'm afraid I don't know anyone with a ground floor flat - my place is even worse than yours for stairs!)

I love this idea but have one flight of steps to the bathroom so that rules us out too. Happy to contribute to cakes and tea if you find a venue.

This is a Haringey Council project, called Contact the Elderly, in which people with suitable premises offer a group (formed by the council) of isolated housebound elderly people, the chance to go to different people's houses for a Sunday afternoon tea and company. The host/ess does it about twice a year, while the group goes around to different houses throughout the year. Each person comes with a volunteer driver/helper.

I've been meaning to get involved with that charity for ages. It's a national thing, and they've got groups in Haringey and Islington. This is a good reminder to look into it.

A friend volunteers as a driver since she does not have a downstairs toilet either but wanted to help out. Sunday was her first 'outing' in Crouch End and she said she had a great time!
