Ipod advice needed

edited October 2011 in Local discussion
My father has recently been diagnosed with cancer and I want to get him an ipod to use while he is having treatment. He will want to listen to music, audio books and the radio but I can't see him playing games. I don't know a huge amount about ipods and he will need something that is straightforward to use. What should I get?

    I would say iPod nano.

You sound like a kind son/daughter by the way.

Thank you. He is in a different country so there is not a huge amount else I can do.
  • I'm sorry to hear about your father.

I have an iPod nano. It does everything you need and is very easy to use.

I would second the iPad suggestion, though I don't actually own one. It's great for so many things. Not just games. Does he read books/magazines/newspapers? He can get all of those on the iPad without having to leave the house.

A big part of illness is boredom. An iPad will keep him entertained. Also, he can use FaceTime (video calling) to talk to friends and family members.

    Hope the treatment goes well.
