I see that Stroud Green's least glamorous boozer is up for grabs. Details in Davies & Davies window. £11,000 p.a. (seems cheap) rent - lease TBN.

Anyone fancy it? It's a good size for a teashop/bookshop...

Yes, I was going to say what Arkady says. I'm equidistant between the Fallback and the NN. I never go in the Nickleby because it's horrid, but would happily go in there after doing a shop in Londis, if it was nice.

I'm sure there's lots of people on FPR and all the side roads that probably gravitate towards drinking in Crouch End when they could come the other way if they were enticed.

I live right near it, can see its beer garden.

If it turned into a 'nicer' pub that would be great.

Still prefer a bookshop though. Or a nice little coffee shop.
What does an A3 license allow, usage wise?

A coffee shop would kill it. All those people waiting for a bus, waiting for laundry to finish next door, picking up dry cleaning, doing a shop at Londis...

It would be a great spot. Anyone want to lend me some cash?

Think it allows for the sale of food or drink for consumption on the premises or hot food for consumption off the premises. So most kinds of food/drink combos really. Think you could do a cafe but there are already billions.

My dream would be a pub that does nice, non gastro lunches - brilliant ploughmans, steak and chips etc., good, village style afternoon teas, has a seafood barrow outside and doesn't show any sport. At all. Ever.

Can't see it being a pub though, if they're keeping the other half of it the NN.

Also there aren't any coffee shops in that area.

Pleeeeeease not a fried chicken shop.
I bet it will be kebabs - which would be ok if it was a bonkers style kebaberie like Marathon in Camden with all kinds of jollity going on out the back.
How about a bakery/cafe with free wifi?
A shop that isn't selling convenience stuffs isn't going to survive in that location. Somewhere to buy fresh bread, pop in for a coffee and go for a change of scenery when working from home would sit well with me.

I agree about wool shops. I find it odd that there are no fabric shops apart from Rolls & Rems at Nags Head. There is a stall in the market there but other than that it's a trip to Dalston or Angel - nothing in SG, Crouch End, Muswell Hill or Highgate.

I think we are pretty well served for pubs, everyone already has a favourite. Would a new one pick up enough clientele to survive?
