Support a great charity while I walk 100km!
  • Hallo!
I've lived in N4 for quite a while now, but this is my first post on this site (yaay). anyway, to the point: I am walking 100km from London to Brighton in May - Crazy, I know!, and I have decided to raise money for the RSPCA Central and North East London Branch. From reading quite a few discussions on this site it is apparent that many of you support animal rehoming and rescue operations, so I thought I would appeal to you for your help. I have set up an online donations page with Just Giving,

which sends any proceeds straight to the charity so you can be sure your money gets to the right people. Even just a few quid would be so appreciated by me and the RSPCA. I chose to support this charity because I love animals and would love a pet, but because of my lease and living arrangements I am unable to give one a good home, so I figured I could contribute in another way.
In 2010 the RSPCA improved the lives of and rescued around 130,033 animals from unfortunate and harmful environments; including all forms of domestic animals as well as farm, Laboratory, and wild animals. They offer a number of amazing services, from neutering and rehoming, to micro-chipping, for animals in need to ensure the highest quality of life and security.
Pets give us so much love and commitment and it pains me to know that many people abuse this trust. For creatures who crave constant attention, some humans are very poor at reciprocating this love and respect.
I shall cease and desist with the ranting now, but please take some time to donate even just 5 pounds to this charity that work so hard.

As a sort of side note, I am not walking this trek alone; A good friend of mine is also raising money for an amazing cause

  • So far a few people have kindly donated money to this cause, and I'd like to say THANK YOU!
I feel the need to express just how far 100km actually is for those of you who haven't decided whether to donate. This walk is no small task: It's the distance of approximately 3 Marathons, and I'm aiming to complete this mammoth trek in 24 hours. So here are those links again:

I can't even express how good it feels to give to a cause you know will do some good for such loving creatures!

    Thanks,
    Pag
