Portuguese/Mozambican restaurant

Right, you people are clever, can you help me out?<br><br>There is a constant simmering source of tension in my relationship with my delightful girlfriend.  Specifically, she loves Nandos but I refuse to go to chain restaurants.<br><br>Anybody know if there are independent restaurants serving a similar cusine?  I know that Nandos emerged from the Portuguese-Mozambican comunity (via south Africa), but the key dish is the chicken/piri-piri combination...<br>

Also, they don’t have chicken on the menu, let alone piri-piri chicken. This is a serious failing. Note that my other half calls chicken ‘white gold’.

She is a wise woman, Nando's is fab, take her to Nando's! One of my best ever birthday lunches was at KFC in Crouch End with some pals.

Strict adherence to principle may be one of the things she finds attractive in me.<br><br>Anyway, I found an expensive place where they play Fado and she can still have her peri-peri chicken while I eat something more interesting, possibly involving dry salted cod.<br>
