I'm sure most people will disagree with this however, given that we have plenty of pretty poor quality chicken and kebab shops I think it would be better to have the real thing. Atleast they would be regulated, answerable to head office complaints by customers and have to 'in general' maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
As my pals know, I bloomin' love KFC. I think they are a franchise though as the quality varies massively from branch to branch which would mean that they don't answer to head office. Nags Head and Crouch End are brilliant, Finsbury Park branch is beyond awful.
I hate McDonalds, the smell is horrid.
Didnt someone say a while ago that the empty unit down by the Twelve Pins/Rowan's is owned by McD's? If that's the case, I wonder why they haven't opened up yet.
No, I think that was Starbucks buying the Railway wasn't it?
I have to say, I would prefer a KFC out of the two.
Giffard, ... c'mon... just walk to finsbury park for kfc!
Fair comment Gardener, but if im going to stuff my face with
greasy junk food I sure don’t want to do any exercise to get it!
But the more exercise you do (i.e. walking to and from there), the more of the stuff you can eat! ;)
They weren't happy chickens.
I never heard anything about Starbucks buying The Railway but I'm sure there was something over a year ago on here about McD's owning the unit between Rowans and The 12 Pins. I'll have a look and see if I can find it.
Please, don't go to Finsbury Park KFC. It is terrible. I might write a guide to KFC's of London - they really do vary hugely.
@missannie Thanks for the tip.
Thanks Annie but I meant I couldn't find the thread about the McD's owned unit next to Rowan's. It was ages ago, possibly even more than a year,and I think it might even have been part of an related topic, making it even harder to find!
Always a bit wary of KFC after the 'cyst' story.
Do like a zinger burger though!
