<font face="Arial, Verdana" size="2">Just came across this and it appears that the new student accommodation on Isledon Road RIGHT by Finsbury Park Station is being marketed as 'Highbury'! </font><span style="font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: small; ">Is the name Finsbury Park really that unalluring?!</span><div><font face="Arial, Verdana" size="2"><br></font></div><div><a href="http://www.purestudentliving.com/our-properties/pure-highbury">http://www.purestudentliving.com/our-properties/pure-highbury</a>; </div><div><font face="Arial, Verdana" size="2"><br></font></div><div><font face="Arial, Verdana" size="2">Its probably not that far from Highbury as the crow flies, but given its on the wrong side of the railway line,  I would have said its as Finsbury Park as you can get! </font></div><div><font face="Arial, Verdana" size="2"><br></font></div><div><font face="Arial, Verdana" size="2">Hopefully though it might smarten up that part of Seven Sisters Road. Noticed last month that the half demolished pub has been sold at auction (for £1.4 million!!). Although I hope they don't go ahead with the previous plans to turn it into a casino / hotel.</font></div>

    <p>I always say 'it's between Finsbury Park and Crouch End'. I quite like that no one can exactly pinpoint where I live, we could add Stroud Green to this signpost <a href="http://fineartamerica.com/featured/fantasy-signs-garry-gay.html">http://fineartamerica.com/featured/fantasy-signs-garry-gay.html</a></p>;
  • I always start off saying Stroud Green..but then revert to Finsbury Park when people don't know where it is.<div><br></div><div>Reminded me of this article on place names - </div><div><br></div><div><a href="http://londonist.com/2012/01/london-rebranded.php">http://londonist.com/2012/01/london-rebranded.php</a>; </div><div><br></div><div>I have heard the Highgate Slopes one quite a bit, always makes me chuckle.</div>
