Contemporary dance shows

I know what a tough crowd this forum is, but in case any of the members and visitors like, enjoy, love or are (vaguely) interested in contemporary dance, I'm producing some shows fairly nearby over the next month (and beyond).

Cloud Dance Festival will be held on 5 - 7 July at Bernie Grant Arts Centre in Seven Sisters, and it's a showcase of new, emerging and rising names in contemporary dance and ballet which aims to make both dance styles accessible to those who wouldn't normally watch (much) dance; many of our past performers have since forged successful careers in contemporary dance, ballet and musical theatre. The shows start at 7.30pm with a different lineup each night and two intervals, so that you can come and go as you please. Further details and tickets are on www.cloud-dance-festival.org.uk, and we'll be holding our next festival there too in mid-November.

Several of the choreographers and dancers are from this area, so that's one good reason already to go!

For those of you who fancy an evening in Kentish Town, I've teamed up with Giant Olive at the Lion & Unicorn Theatre to produce monthly nights of contemporary dance and occasionally other dance styles, eg zouk. The shows will be on Sunday evenings, offering people the chance to treat themselves to some good entertainment then have a drink or two in the pub downstairs - or the pub gardens if the weather's good - before heading home. Our first show was in mid-May and sold out; the next show will be on 14 July, featuring four short works, followed by further shows on 4 August and 8 September.
