I have walked past it too. Is there really a market for flowers in SGR. Tesco/Sainsbury and Mini cab office provide enough of a variety. But I know nothing about flowers
I hate flowers inside. Leave them in the garden where they belong and look beautiful.Never understood why people feel the need of bringing flowers to birthdays and whatnot. Even when you're dead they can't help it. Don't they realise that you can't look after them anymore?
Yes, smelling the beautiful roses people have in their front gardens cheers me up. I love to stop and stick my nose in. I don't hate flowers--in fact I love them--just not inside. I have my potted plants, that's enough for me.
No.

A word...if you want to woo a lady (or discerning chap), do not give them supermarket, mini cab, or petrol station flowers. A carefully chosen seasonal bunch from the florist is the way forward.
I am with Stella on this, cut flowers make me sad, watching them wilt and die.
On the other hand I like dried flowers. If someone had offered to hang me upside-down in my prime for a while to help preserve me im mot sure it would have been a bad thing.
I love nasturtiums. A lot. In a salad or as as snack. That's a flower I pick. ;-)

annie: every now and again I'm a lady, but you won't get anywhere with a bunch of flowers with me. I'd rather receive a hug, if the feeling from the person is earnest. That's far more personal than a bunch of flowers.
I do appreciate, though, that many women or even men, like receiving flowers.
Popped in there and bought an Amaryllis stem because they're a bit of a Christmas tradition. The chap running it was really nice. Cost me the grand sum of £3.50

They're actually a well-established business that primarily do contract flowers for offices and the like, but when they were looking for new premises they realised they could do that work out back and also run a small public shop too.

I hope they do well.

Let me tell you cats survive anything. I've opened hundreds of cat stomachs to remove xmas decorations, calendars (not joking), key rings, candles and cigarette lighters . They just bounce back , until they get hit by an Astra. Just let them stuff themselves, flowers or not. They do love Xmas treats like turkey.

Another vote for the lovely new florist, they have some lovely things there - plus they gave my two girls a christmas bauble each for the tree as a little gift.
Sounds like another potential hero!! (Awaits missile from conga kong).
Amazing (and good) these flower shops are doing well. Just goes to show the place is brightening up day by day. That sunshine flower shop near the post office must be looking to its laurels (or hydrangeas) - it was one if the first and best. Tho I hear from joyce that it and cab office is for sale?

I saw some black latex roses in the sunshine flower shop last time i was in, couldn't make up my mind if i really liked them or not, wish i had got one now.
