Book Club 20th Feb at the Stapleton: Three Men in a Boat

The next book group book will be Three Men in a Boat by Jerome K Jerome.<br><br>I found a sweet edition at the library with illustrations by Vic Reeves!<br><br>We will meet at <b>The Stapleton </b>(for a change) at 8pm... unless anyone wants to change place/time?<br><br>Newbies always welcome.<br>

That's one of the funniest books I've ever read. Read it first aged about 10 and again lots of times since, excellent choice.

He's generally excellent, though you can see why the sequel hasn't had the same long popularity - not just the title, but all those jokes about the odd but harmless Germans which must have seemed out of place as the mood in Europe darkened for a generation.

Hello all, I've just noticed that the Stapleton has a quiz night on Thursdays! Might be noisy I don't know. But we were trying to find a quieter venue. Is it too late to change to the Noble? By the way I'm not sure that I will make it myself. I couldn't get hold of the audio CDs from the library until a few days ago and now they won't play on my computer. Also have a bit of a sore throat...bah. Anne

Sounds like it might be worth going to the Noble. I'm probably not going to make it as my partner won't be able to leave work early enough to babysit. Can everyone else make it?

I can make it.<br>Maybe we should still meet in the Stapleton just in case people don't check the site again before tomorrow, and if it's really noisy we can just walk up the road?<br>Hopefully we can sit in the non-quiz bit and it'll be quiet enough.<br>See you at 8 in the Stapleton Angela - unless others can't make it either and you want to change the date? Getting a bit close to the edge though and I remember we had trouble fitting this around people anyway... what do you reckon?<br>
