@Stata.Chang specialism is cat gutting which involves removal of foreign objects from the cats guts around Hornsey Road. Unusually there is a very high incidence of cats swallowing objects like lighters, batteries etc in the Hornsey Road area which requires the a vet with special interest in gutting. Chang epidemiological knowledge of cats is very poor, especially when the exposure of Hornsey Road cats to bovine TB is likely to be limited.
There are more experienced vets than me worried about this problem so check your moggies. The nhs website has info for any humans infected and wot to look for.

There's nothing wrong with being vigilant, but let's not get carried away.
Whilst there is only one reported case of cat-human transmission of TB (M. bovis), the human transmitted cases in the UK of TB number 8,751 in 2012 (of which 39% or 3,426 cases were in London). Lets look at it with some perspective.
Btw Chang, how do you determine if a cat has active TB? You can't take a history from the cat, and you can't get a sputum sample for AFB - so what do you do? BAL?
Sputum from cats is easy you just needs 2 hooks. I'm not sayin all of them round here are toxic but TB is a sad reality - see article . Whether you hold down two jobs in Sg or live on the outskirts in green lanes tb is not a joke so don't treat it like 1.

Perhaps the error is in referring to the daily mail for such a serious matter Chang, After all the daily mail is only good for gossip, not health advice, otherwise you would believe sitting within 1 metre of an immigrant will give you cancer. Now for those hooks.... why two and not three? or four?
