It isn't SG, of course, but the Gentle Author who blogs about Spitalfields has just put up a piece about the defence of an old street of weavers' cottages in 1977 and how the same company is after it now - with lots of pictures including one of me being young and dedicated to conservation on the steps of one of the houses! (I was one of about five people living in Spitalfields at the time, at least that was how it felt.) Depressing though that these things have to be fought again and again.<div><br></div><div>No goats or elephants. A pity.</div>
