Traffic light timer

There new traffic lights on the junction of Tollington Park and Hornset Rd opposite Tesco. They have timers on so you know when the green man will come on. I think it is a very good idea and I saw these timers for the first time in Southern Malaysia over a decade ago and thought they were a good idea then. I wonder if there is any evidence that suggest it decreases accidenets

Assuming you are referring to the countdown clocks? They do reduce accidents and also reduce the seriousness of casualties if they do occur.
