Haringey Council £70m cuts consultation

This relates to the thread on the 38 degrees autism campaign. If I hadn't seen that I wouldn't have known that the council had published a consultation on the three year plan which involves making general cuts of £70m including lots of job losses and closures. <div>Obviously the council is stuck between a rock and a hard place in the face of diminishing central government funding. So they're hoping to sneak through this consultation which they only announced before Christmas and closes this Sunday. They've couched their proposals in lots of positive language and it takes some reading through to see exactly what is going on. However it's worth taking a little time to reply to the consultation if you have strong feelings on any of the proposals. It's incredibly difficult to find on the council website itself. He is a link.  </div><div>The deadline is Sunday 18th January. http://www.haringey.gov.uk/council-and-democracy/policies-and-strategies/building-stronger-haringey-together/have-your-say </div><div><br></div><div><br></div>

  • You're right, very hard to find. <br><br>Some real concerns there, on top of the care funding: stopping partial funding of Jacksons Lane theatre and Ally Pally, and possibility of removing childcare subsidy, etc.  <br>
