Has something happened to it recently eg new management? I noticed recently that it's now called 'new exotic of india' - hope it's still as good as it was before!

No. The one time I tried it - a Xmas Eve and Dinner Box was closed - the food was truly awful. Gristly, over-cooked and over-salted food. Never again.

Dinner Box/Express for take-aways. Yak & Yeti for dine-in.

Leave EoI well alone.

I had a simple lamb bhuna and a garlic naan from EoI and found them distinctly middle of the road I must say. I will be trying Dhonia on Tollington Park next as they have byob

Hi everyone

Thank you for all the lovely comments I am and everyone at exotic of India appreciates that our food is liked by the local area. having lived here for most of my life in north London, Stroud green has given us the opportunity to open our business for the local community and serve authentic Indian food to tickle everyone's taste buds.

Thank you

exotic of India

To be fair to the Exotic, they'd always gladly power-up any dish nicely on request (e.g. vindaloo-level dhansak my personal favourite) which many places don't do well (or only do very slightly) presumably fearing they might make it too hot. It was always properly "cooked-in" hot, not just throw in some extra chillis.
And as a steady customer over many years I always received polite and efficient service there, so nothing to complain about.
Only ever in there once. A meat-eating friend who loved Jai Krishna, my favourite, wanted to have meat on one of our meet-ups. A bit too old school in decor and service, but lovely food.
Sorry for the late reply, @HolbornFox , but yes, Sitara did have jazz playing whenever I've been there. Sounded like East Coast 60's and 70's jazz to me, but I'm no aficionado.

If you're looking for something a cut above the better high street Indian, try The Sitara, on the Archway end of Holloway Rd.
Never made it to The Sitarar a do they actually have jazz?
