Police Looking for Girl Last Night

Was woken up at 3am last night by a police car going down my road with a speaker phone looking for (I think) a young girl who had run away..... Does anyone know anything more about this?

I particularly like their mention of the "doom impending" voice, as it did sound like something from a dystopian police state.... Scared the bejeezus out of us!
