I heard a rumour that Arena shopping centre and Sainsbury may become housing. Does anyone know what is happening with this

Pretty sure it's in the Haringey local plan as a site suitable for mixed use development (read housing while retaining the supermarket). As far as I know no plans worked up yet.

I heard awhile back that Saintsbury's is not renewing its lease I think next year. ThgThge Home base will be becoming a Bunnings should get a gpood slectin of BBQs!

There is always a charity sausage sizzle outside their stores on a Saturday. I guess buying UK companies just got 30 % cheaper with the post Brexit fall in the £ as you can see with ARM today.

The Council have long-term plans to redevelop the whole site. It will primarily be residential, with a new frontage onto Green Lanes (which will be a big improvement). See page 76 here: http://www.haringey.gov.uk/sites/haringeygovuk/files/07-haringey-site-allocations-dpd_050116.pdf One of the main aims is to increase density while reducing dependence on cars - laudable given how snarled-up Green Lanes gets around there.

Interesting that it was once a Gas works, must have been before the Greyhound Stadium was there. Certainly is long term post 2020
