Is it bad luck to take an Xmas Tree down before New Year?

edited December 2007 in Local discussion
My cat keeps trying to eat the decorations and I'm tired of pulling them out his mouth.

Spending New Year's Eve/Day in the vets waiting for the return of Xmas baubles would be extremely bad luck.

My Xmas tree came down yesterday as the kitten was trying to eat the tinsel.

Tinsel appears to be decoration of choice here too - I think the tree comes down today.

Well, tree has gone, cat is still alive. Figured I'd take the snowflakes down off the site with the tree.

Ours came down on the 27th. There's no such thing as luck.

As far as I know, the only Christmas decoration etiquette is the 12 days of Christmas business (i.e. if they're still up past 6th Jan or whenever is 12 days after 25th Dec, you have to keep them up all year or its bad luck). Still, if you don't believe in luck then there's nothing to worry about!
