Local Labour Party knocking on doors round here. "Will you be voting Labour?" "Not while Jeremy Corbyn is supporting the Tories and voting for Brexit." "What about local issues?" "Same applies." Hope that was clear enough. So bugger off.

I didn't think he was voting for anything at present, although I'm led to believe that renationalisation is not possible while in the EU?

Nothing in the 2017 Labour manifesto, including rail nationalisation, is precluded by EU law. The whole Lexit argument is fundamentally evidence-free economic nationalism that should have been abandoned circa 1983.

One thing I am certainly sure of is that if the UK people decide to nationalise railways it shouldn't have anything to do with the EU.

That article mentions 'the legal quagmire' which should probably say 'the quagmire of parasites in the procurement, service and legal industries, amongst others'.

One such parasite is Carillion who are about to go under after ripping millions out of the system.

I have sent several emails to my local councillors over the last year - and copied them on more. Their responses have been notably absent. Perhaps they feel that their seats are so secure they don't need to bother with constituents' case-work any more?
