Miso - 2 for 1

edited February 2008 in Local discussion
Just to let everyone know that there are 2 for 1 vouchers for Miso in this week's Islington Gazette, free copies of which are available in the dispenser outside Tesco.

I ate there once and was served possibly the worst stir fry I have ever been given. I've been unable to go back since, so traumatised was I by this. I'm fairly sure we haven't had a proper debate about Miso here (although I could be wrong). So, Miso, good or evil?

I think you get what you pay for at Miso. It's so cheap that as long as you aren't too fussy and choose well, then it's not terrible. I would prefer a good non-franchise fusion noodle joint though.

Fusion noodles? Did y'all see the Wagamama breakfast menu? http://www.wagamama.com/downloads/menus/breakfast_wigmore.pdf

Hurrah, two lots of bland inauthentic terrible food for the price of one!

Speaking of 2 for 1...The manager is a bigamist. He has a wife and kids over here and a wife and kids in Hong Kong. He's a busy man.

*Speaking of 2 for 1...The manager is a bigamist. He has a wife and kids over here and a wife and kids in Hong Kong. He's a busy man.* Is this true? Second question, how libellous is this, from a 'small website with no money getting sued' perspective? As for Miso, it is what it is. I prefer Cats.

Yep he is a bigamist. I heard it from a faithful Chinese Stroud Green authority but apparently not a problem in Hong Kong so it seems..?
A relief manager has been running Miso since Christmas whilst he tends to his second wife and kids over there.

Brilliant. Just, you know, because it's a good idea, could you write your full name, address and phone number, along with a legal thingy giving warranties that you like being sued?

See Andrew, I'm not that naughty.

You don't know where I live. (on second thoughts you do, you posted stickers through my door not too long ago!)

I'm with Dominic on this one, its not the best, but its good enough for the price. The green curry isn't the end of the world and gets delivered to your door when too hangover to open the fridge and cook something.

Andy, you better hope one of his wives isn't this woman; she has previous with website libel:

Those in the 'have children" side of your previous matrix should know who she is...

I concur, except I'm more on the coming home on Sunday night, it's 9pm you have no food in, you really just want to wind down for an hour before bed but you need something to eat which is really quick, really filling, relatively healthy (you're not drunk) and really cheap. Swayed yed Colette? Or will you make do with a couple of Malted Milks when you get home?

Those needs are always fulfilled by a take away masala dosa from Jai Krishna. I can't see the point of Miso - it's worse than Cats, and Cats isn't that great.

I've been here once, and their one on Hoxton Square once. Both times greeted with truly awful food.
  • edited 5:38AM
Jai Krishna would fulfill that if it didn't take them so bloody long.

Used one of the vouchers yesterday. It is only for eating in the place. The food was kind of okay, but on the bland side but the Chicken Satay sauce was quite spicy although I had some doubt about how well the Chicken was cooked.

It is you get what you pay for as it is about half the price of Cats although that might now be a quarter of the price due to the 2 for 1 on the main course ! but I guess in Cats I usually have a few more on tap Budvars !

What time were you in there Ali? We were in there at about 7:45pm last night as I didn't manage to finish installing new taps in the kitchen in time to be able to cook dinner.

The food was ok for the (half) price. There are some dishes which appear to be safe and some which I wouldn't risk again.

That makes me sound like a seasoned visitor to Miso. I'm not. I've been maybe five or six times. The horrible dishes seem to be the ones which have an overly-sugared sauce.

    It was lunch time !

Singapore Noodles are not so bad.

Not tried a Bento box what ever that is though.

I guess if it cheapness your looking for you could do the Miso 2 for 1 and then proceed to the White Lion and use all the money off coupons that came through the letter box earlier in the week. Pint of Abbott for £1.29 or something.

    What a night out !!

    2 for 1 won't even tempt me
