The St Mellitus organ restoration project presents a series of songs about home to lift the spirits.
Mezzo Soprano Patricia Hammond and her musical partner Matt Redman have recorded a series of vintage songs about home from St Mellitus, at a time when so many of us have been at home. The church brings particular poignancy to the theme, as it is home to the Hunter memorial organ, built to commemorate the men who went to fight in WW1. Supported by the National Lottery, it is currently being restored in time for its centenary in December. The seven songs will go out every evening at 6pm on the project’s new YouTube channel
from Sunday 31st May; subscribe to the channel, and please do share with friends and family
