I had a Saturday job in the 'new' Tescos, after it opened in 1978/9. I grew up in Stroud Green, but cannot remember what was originally on the site which Tescos now occupies. Does anyone remember what was there?
Suggests a dairy depot at the front and laundry at the rear. Earlier maps show a school. Neither were as wide as the current frontage, so it's likely some houses got demolished as well.
