Hello everyone, here is the news of the week.
Shumei lettuce, “grown only by soil, the sun and rain or well water“, is now in glorious but evanescent abundance, and although it being the 2nd Sunday of the month the Shumei team cannot be with us to sell it themselves, we will make sure you will be able to buy their produce somewhere at the market…so please go on a lettuce hunt and make the most of this special harvest! As far as I have ever heard, lettuces cannot be jarred, jammed, pickled, juiced, hidden in a “healthy“ cake or showcased in a wacky craft beer: they just have to be eaten, and are all the more precious for it.
Also precious are the green hen’s eggs and pearly duck eggs that are being brought up to london today and sold alongside fresh organic guernsey butter & yoghurt at The Good Life Stall. All in all, it’s a good time to be alive in Stroud Green! Even the wireless festival and the school building work cannot dampen or spirits.
See you on Sunday!
