I have met the man who owns this elephant.....the howdah I suppose. He has been spotted now and again in the Larrik. The finest minds go there.
Apparently, now and again the council come round and measure the overhang on to the pavement, and tell him to cut it down. But he never has to because there are too many people who would rush to the barricades. So there it stays.
Maybe we commission a guerilla gardener to fashion something from the hedge oustide Wall Court. Maybe a procession of baby elephants? How cool would that be?
Last time I saw the one in Victoria Road it had "grown out" a bit - so just looked like a funny shaped hedge. It was definitely an attempt at an elephant at one stage though.
Definitely on the crescent as I walk past it with the dog every day. Took photos ages ago (and was spotted and smiled at by owner!) and meant to post them on here. There is also some kind of snake/rat-like thing on Evershot Road. Will procure photo!
Any design suggestions for the rectangular hedge in my front garden? - not big enough for elephant, sadly.
(will need downstair's flat and, possibly, Andy's approval though)
There was a story about a guy who clipped his privet into the shape of an enormous native American paddling a canoe and then showed some video or a picture of the SG elephant as another example of clever topiary

i think it's great. Very SG.
We should have more !
There are plenty of life models round here.
Also a lot of the hedges in Florence are looking very well cut and neat and tidy – Maybe Times Magazine man lives there
