The covered reservoir on Mount View Road

Last weekend I was walking along Ossian Road and noticed two girls sitting at the top of the grassy bank on the south side of the covered reservoir enjoying the sun. I've always been a bit peeved that there is a big green space at the back of my house that isn't open to the public. By which I mean the reservoir, not downstairs' garden. Anyway: Is there a secret route in? Is it dangerous? Is it really where Thunderbird 3 lives when it's in north London?

I just posted on that moving from tufnell park thread about a friend of mine who suspects that there is some sort of secret base in there... And then I saw this thread, where you appear to have heard the same myth/rumour...

btw I'm curious where the secret way in is too

Don't they just climb over the fence? Not that high is it? Just been prowling the perimeter on Google street view, can't get all the way around but it looks like there might be lower fences behind the buildings on Mount Pleasant Villas.

On Millennium Eve 2000 they opened the gates and half of Stroud Green went there at midnight to watch the fireworks. Couldn't see anything though. Rubbish.

There used to be a small play park at the MPVillas/Mountview corner (are the gates still there?), but Haringey and Thames Water closed it about 20 years ago.

It would be ideal to start a vineyard along its banks, as well as a community garden/allotments. I know many people who would be interested in growing their own fruit & vegetables in the area. Any ideas how we can persuade Thames Water to allow this to happen?

Is there actually a rule that says people cant go on there? Is it classed as private land? If one day I happened to scale the wall and have a nice little sunbathing session on it would I be ejected?

erm yes, trespass. Like there is a 'rule' that says i cant enter your property, put my feet up and watch TV

Its not public land, its owned by Thames Water.

Anchors (dropping down to the latest comment) doesn't work on IE6 in general (certain CSS rules I won't bore you with). Can you describe a little better or post a screengrab please, I don't have IE6 to test in. ADGS my chrome is rendering fine, is it the same margin thing the others are talking about?

Anyone's eyes better than mine? The Northern Heights train map link from the [Parkland Walkway thread](http://www.stroudgreen.org/discussion/1521/) seems to label the covered reservoir as "Tennis Ground"? [N4 map from 1930s](http://www.abandonedstations.org.uk/NorthernHeightsMap.html)

Also looks like tennis ground to me. Seems like a more sensible use for a covered reservoir than an allotment.
