Sky 3d pubs

Sky is going to broadcast the Arsenal - Man U game in 3D at nine pubs around the country - they are in London, Manchester, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Dublin. <http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/596cd036-0b6a-11df-8232-00144feabdc0.html>; They aren't saying which pubs, but as it's Arsenal one of them is bound to be nearby. Anyone got any clues? Old Dairy, would you like to confirm or deny?

Apparently the slug and lettuce in Angel was the closest pub.

They were also all invite-only events.

@Slabber, we could write a little program that puts "what's the point of X" at the end of every thread. Would that save you some time?

My mate went yesterday to the Slug and Lettuce and said it was pretty good and a bit of fun. The annoying thing though is that generally when watching footie in the pub, you don't just look at the screen all the time and therefore the glasses are a bit of a chore. That said, another friend is a cameraman at Sky and they have been running up to this for ages and will do a lot more of these broadcasts and hope to be able to deliver direct to peoples houses by the end of the year. This coupled with some cheaper 3D TV's (that don't need the specs) coming to market this year mean this may be the future of TV viewing....

Off topic, but all I now about Upton Park is its mildly amusing inversion: Krap Not Pu. One of Sg.org's more prolific posters has done the same with the general name for our area, with similar scatological effect, and then adopted it as his nom de plume - but I assume everyone realised that.
