Jamboree Play Hut & TreeTops breakfast/afterschool/holiday provision - Haringey threatening closure

edited June 2011 in Local discussion
Please support our local campaign to challenge the threatened closure of Jamboree Play Hut in Finsbury Park and TreeTops extended provision at Stroud Green Primary School/Children's Centre

Jamboree is an invaluable play & support resource for local families with young children, run by fantastic experienced staff & very welcoming to all families from a range of diverse backgrounds. Used by 200+ families per week for what must be very small over heads ( 2 members of staff).

The Play Hut has been open for many years and its closure will be a huge loss & waste of a fantastic space within Finsbury Park.

Tree tops enables parents to go to work by providing affordable quality care for children age 3+ before and after school and during the holidays; also provides essential help & support for families under stress. Workers linked to Jamboree provide this service at the school ensuring continuity of care between services and an wealth of child care & family support experience

The council has provided a feedback form for parents to complete (available at School and Jamboree) which says: ‘please tell us your views on the proposal to close the Treetops and Jamboree provisions from October 2011’
