  I think the only way to remove the IT policy is to re-attach the device to the corporate Blackberry server.
  Not that it helps you now but they should have done this before giving you the device!

  i think if you download the blackberry desktop app, then plug the phone into your computer, you may be able to reinstall the operating system which will overwrite any custom settings. <http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/>; Not that the bloody things work at the moment anyway.
