Ok so has anyone seen the new Kenyan restaurant that's opened on Crouch Hill just up from the Old Dairy?? After having stared at the shop sign Chick-a-Dees for months the shop suddenly opened last week un announced! The Decor looks really nice but I'm a bit confused as to why they haven't advertised or anything. Anyways has anyone tried it yet?? I've been meaning ton but haven't had any free time!

I'm in there now. Waiting for a takeaway order. It's obvious from talking to the staff that this is a labour of love. Will report later on the food.

Checked out the menu last night. I didn’t know what a lot of it meant, but it looked good. A bit expensive though – minimum £10 for a main – and they didn’t appear to have a separate take-out menu.

Went tonight. I quote the wife, "the worst meal out we've had round here". Really bad, the only saving grace being the Tusker imported beer. Expensive, tasteless and terrible quality meat.

The Italian place next door that used to be Monti something or other is not bad. And unusually for Italian places it is actually run by an Italian family. Extra large bowl of well cooked pasta and decent source for a fiver

I was distinctly unimpressed by Chick-a-dees. I wish I'd gone to Island Grill for some quality jerk or stewed chicken.
