Quite right, Harpistic. I carelessly added stuff to the Rub thread, over the last day or two, which might be of interest, to those that haven't seen it. That, plus interesting comments from others too, of course. I hope Sara (sic; not Sarah, I have now discovered) herself will appear one of these days, and tell us more. She told ME a bit more, but best to leave it to her, as to what she says or doesn't say, I think.
I liked the comments - very entertaining to read - which made me thought it'd be good to have a HH thread of its own so everyone can keep track of how the place is coming along.

I think there's some statistic for how long a forum thread can keep to its topic before completely digressing into all manners of other things
There are plenty of people in SG who would absolutely wet themselves about those kinds of wares heading our way. Offer 11pence when you don't see a pound sign
Well the stock's going in the shop and I've seen them taking pictures, so I don't think it's fake.

I for one am overjoyed I'll be able to buy Skeem candles and Tokyo Milk soap on my doorstep. I don't know how I've managed up to now.
All right, all right - I'm hopeful about there being somewhere to buy presents/tchotchkes from without having to schlep to posh Islington or Crouch End. I don't want a high street made up of nothing but Hettie H's, but one is good.
It makes me a bit sad that something that appears by all accounts appears to be an independent, one-woman passion project, is getting dumped on before it even opens.
God forbid that any of you lot might have a dream or take a risk.
Well, I'm very excited about this shop. I'm her prime customer, partial as I am to Moleskines and soap. Someone on that other thread said it was a bit Labour & Wait. I love that shop. So, hurrah, basically.

I have even decided to overlook a sentence on her blog that sent me into a rage.

That was me. It looked like a warmer and slightly more cluttered (without being too busy) Labour & Wait. That was a couple of days ago, she opens today I think!
Meh. I really want a decent video game / gaming café or something of the sort nearby, I don't want posh soaps. I'm not sure what kind of catchment area SGR supposedly is, but over-priced middle-class tat?

Eh, you never know.
We'll see. There are, increasingly, a lot of people with money round here and not many shops aimed at them. My guess would be that local businesses are more likely to thrive if they go upmarket.
Defend dreams, passions, visions, yes, of course ... But my toes curl when I hear those words applied to business. (I have obviously spent too much time surrounded by managers doing pointy-head manager speak.). If you're passionate about selling soap - much as I like a good soap - what word do you use for the things you're seriously passionate about?

Meanwhile I tried to check 'the girlfriend bit' on the website and there is nothing there but a countdown! What has happened to the fine great-granny photo?

I rather admire someone, however far away from their target demographic I might be, and whatever I might think about the details, who chucks it all in to pursue ideas about the things they care about, without apparent regard for a personal safety net.
And i can see that if you particularly care about design, or craftsmanship, or personal independence or introducing people to something you care about, then having a business may well be the best way to express that.
None of this provides a warranty against HH being a bad idea, but I admire the spirit of it.
@mirandola - inspirational. I take it all back. Sophistication, nostalgia, resonance, excitement - pink ice cream shaped like a foot - bring on the vim powder too. I remember Vim containers - cardboard tubes, could probably be sold in a retro way ...
