Victoria Line running fine through to Victoria according to TfL, but not stopping at Warren St.
Not looking forward to the legion of weekend lycracyclists joining the daily commute today.
Victoria line didn't open until just before 8 so it wasn't very pleasant at Finsbury Park - I was waiting there for about 45 mins. Once on the tube it was fine and quieter than normal (no passengers from Walthamstow - Seven Sisters makes a big difference). Frequency only every 10 mins so was busy, but not ridiculous and very few people were left on the platforms.

TfL/bus staff/police were doing a great job at Finsbury Park. Can anyone tell me whether the Wells Terrace entrance was open later on - it was closed at 7.15.
I tried the 19 from FP. It was about 7.30am. It was like a scrum, I didn't get on the first 3 buses but would have got on the 4th one, but then they opened the Victoria line so I went that way.

The problem is they can't gurantee that the Victoria line will be running, if it isn't then the 19 will likely be very busy.
I cycled. Started at 7.15 via Amwell Road, down past Farringdon and over Black Friars. Not a huge difference. A few more cyclists but quite a lot of queues for buses past Angel and onto Black Friars. The wind was the main problem today.
Agree with you Misscara if you need to look highly presentable. It's more smart casual for me but I still take a spare shirt. Over the last month I've only cycled a few days due to the wet weather, having a slight cold and just the darkness. But today, it was a wise thing to do for me.

Although I find travelling on the tube more stressful than cycling and I don't travel through the height of rush hour.

Goblin line packed to point of dangerousness this morning. 3 trains before I could get on. Got crushed and am bruised. A lot of screaming and a couple of punch ups. Staff trying to control but crowds really too big.
Bob Crow should be taken out and shot, beaten, tard and feathered, beaten a little bit more, locked in a suitcase dropped in the river stamped on made to deliver conservative party literature beaten for a third time then covered in bacon and thrown into a lions den, my only concern would be for the poor lion's digestion.
If there are no people behind the windows at stations, what happens when something goes wrong with your oyster. I use pay as you go as I generally cycle a few days a week. In the last month I've had to consult with someone behind the window to rectify the problem and it's been done in a very professional way. I don't think station assistants will do this if they're down on the platform. According to what I know, Boris Johnson wants to get rid of all the staff behind the windows and keep station assistants.

Nob crow is aweful, but worse than that a hypocrite . Apparently leaving his council house ( he earns 160 k a year. - doesn't some single mum deserve it more?) recently for 5 star cruise and two centre luxury holiday he was a star turn in the caberet.
Which I don't begrudge him and his porky mistress , but it hardly makes him credible when he is attacking the idle rich and a two tier society. Train drivers now get a higher starting wage than new head teachers - managing budget if millions and with future if thousands if kids in their hands. Bit off.
I agree the booking offices should be staffed, but Bob is not going to achieve it. This sort of socialism is very selfish. What about the really exploited workers ? Brothers of the rmt don't give a stuff .

I wouldn't begrudge his posh holiday if he weren't so rude about anyone with money and status. As a 'Marxist '. (!!!) He wants to be man if the people but a week in Rhyl is beneath him. Tribal prat. At least someone like Ken did the posturing but had London in his heart.

Probably only moderately useful to SG'ers but Northern line from Archway into central London around 8.45am or so was busy but not manic... (as in, was a squeeze, but I got onto the first train)

*\*waves from N7\**

roy
And they wonder why there is dramatic rise in mobility scooters, price of petrol and state of public transport seemingly people are taking to them as an alternative!

. I have not got one yet but admit to having mobility scooter envy, though it is actually illegal to use one if not at least part disabled.

It's all good. The way people are going on you'd think we're in war zone. Any able bodied person out there, walk, get on your bike. Blitz spirit.

That might involve looking like Steve Strange and getting on the nerves of a few sub humans. We're Londoners, stop whinging. Let's walk, cycle and get on our mobility scooters.

Saw a few people on Twitter moaning about public transport when they could have walked. Housemate walked 5 miles back today! I know some people aren't in that position!
It always amuses me a little to see people stagger out the gym at Tottenham hale and right onto the tube.

I have always hated public transport gives me panic attacks, would walk miles rather than use it back in the days when i could walk miles.

On the odd occasion i am forced to use public transport really feel for those who have to use it regularly on a normal day.let alone in this chaos, cant be healthy for anyone!.

Sutent, what you angry about. You can afford to go to SF. About Bob Crow going to Brazil, the last stand of the unions before this country turns into the Bullingdon Club franchise where most of the population are on subsistence wages licking the boots of an elite.
