• We are going 2, might sing along with the jazz duo! Chang
 • The place rocks and Jonty are going with my in laws on friday . No penguins allowed tho! Good to see a great local place getting support and thriving. Chang
 • Ajani delivered another fantastic evening again a few weeks back for us. The food is great, atmosphere is lovely and Patrick is a great bloke.

I'd love to see it open on a Sunday, perhaps rather than a quieter weekday like a Monday.

Sunday evening is definitely a prime candidate for eating out for us - makes it easier to go out with our daughter rather than trying to find a babysitter, as a weeknight requires.

Hopefully once that Tesco opens there's ll be more people attracted to that spot to notice Ajani.

Been meaning to write this for a good while, and I've finally been spurred into action by another amazing meal a few nights ago.

Ajani's is a fantastic restaurant with some of the best food you can find in London. We've been going there since it opened and it always offers mouth-wateringly good cuisine, especially the steak, lamb chops, hand cut chips and wok vegetables. Patrick knows something about cooking meat that other chefs would give their right arm to know. The decor and music are great too.

The location is actually very convenient for us as we live just round the corner, but I can see why some of the other comments here worry whether Ajani can thrive in its current location. Let's just hope so. Many good Parisien bistros don't come close to offering the quality of food you can get here.

 • Glad I saw this as I did noticed Adjani when it first opened and made mental note to go but forgot ...so will definitely make a point to go.
 •
Ajani has a new website - ajanigrillandjazz.co.uk

It's only just launched so there might be one or two bugs, but hopefully it's more useful than the old one. The menu is on there, plus upcoming listings and a few nice pictures of the place.

Good vibes!

 • Nice site. Good work.
 • no map ... or did I miss it?
 • I didn't see a map, but top marks to the photographer.
 • Hi gardener-joe and poxy – I've added a map to the site: you can click the orange address link in the header and to footer.
 • Hi ten4,

Do you think you could add a link to this thread?
• How do you mean? Like this? ajanigrillandjazz.co.uk
 • Sorry, I meant adding a link to this thread on the ajani website.
• Hi Mirandola - sorry, but there isn't really a section to link out to this discussion.
 •
Ajani is now on Urban Spoon and needs some reviews!

http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/52/1691390/restaurant/Holloway/Ajani-Grill-Jazz-London;
 • We went there on Friday at 8.30 - so missed out on the Mon-Thurs set price 2 course special.
The food was really well cooked, straightforward and hearty stuff. [chicken, ribs] However after ordering we discovered three of the five main dishes were finished and had to re-jig our orders - there was just one vegetarian option. There was only one waitress completely rushed off her feet.

The atmosphere was good with a piano player and singer at one point. Considering the location, the room and the food the bill was not great value - £26 a head for the four - one sharing plate starter, four mains, six beers, and wine. Would only go again mid-week to use the £7.50 a head offer and get there at 7pm so a the full menu is available food.
• I went with a couple of friends on an non--live-jazz evening. We all ordered different food and were very happy with our dishes. I was impressed by the atmosphere they've created and smiles broke out on faces with the arrival of the bill: £15/head, including wine. I say go check it out!
•
Went there friday night with a birthday party. What a find. Perhaps one should sponsor a chair or a brick there to keep the place going. One waitress coping with our party of 10. The food arrived gradually but was very well cooked . The tagine is marvellous and Patrick is a lovely man with a talent for cooking and booking very good acts. We came in at £26 a head but we were knocking back the beers.

So there you are listening to great music on a Friday or Saturday night on the Hornsey Road, NOT SOHO.

Give it a whirl.

 • Shamefully, I still haven't been here. Next week or so, I promise.
 • Hi All, this Saturday 24th Nov at Ajani's one of the elder statesman of British jazz- Bobby Wellins will be playing with the one of the finest jazz pianist Kate Williams. A great night of musical feast.
 • They sound magnificent, or rather those links do. What are they doing in a little backwater, however remarkable, like Aljani?
 • Ajani's had quite a few good acts lately. I don't know how they manage it either.
 • Hi All,It's Oriental Jazz party this Friday 21st Dec at Ajani Grill&Jazz with Gilad Atzmon and the Orient House Ensemble.

 • Looks like Ajani has closed down, windows have been covered over and sign is being taken down. Have to say I stopped going there over the last year or so once an admission fee was charged on jazz nights, the food seemed to be sidelined in favour of the music which was a shame as Patrick was a great cook. Hope he goes on to bigger and better things.
