I saw this happen. A massive scaly alien presence with a locust's head and giant pincers erupted through the tarmac, clambered out and lumbered off up the road, gobbling up shoppers outside Londis and tossing cats into its maw. It made a sound like a six ton truck hitting a bridge.
Am I the only person who is secretly in love with the woman who does the new voice announcements on the W3? I just love the way she says: 'to....Finsbury Park Station'.
@ KRS - She sounds touched! It's like she can't remember what she's supposed to say.
I think it's horrible really - I hate that public service announcement thing, they just make you zone out and miss anything important.
And for balance...
But I can see why perhaps a bewildered tourist clutching a moth eaten AtoZ in the N4/8/22 area may appreciate being told the names of bus stops they are going through.
Yay the announcements!
The cordoning off is really half arsed and people are constantly driving through it - just no buses.
I've only done the forgetting thing once so far - where you suddenly find yourself half way up Crouch Hill thinking 'Eh?'
No offence to you KRS, but your lady doesn't announce the diversion, does she?
I think she does the 19 as well. She swallows her words a bit. I really don't like the way she says 'Number 19....to Batseebidge South side.' Lazy if you ask me.
krs: look forward to hearing how you and Emma get on in (?) Pappagone
tosscat: my daughter survived unscathed, but I do miss the W3. Also there are lots of cars roaring down our previously quiet road. I think I need to dig it up.
did anybody else see that programme on TV the other month, about a Woman who was in love with (and married) the Eiffel Tower? Who is apparently also female.
there were numerous other people featured (all women, weirdly) who were in love with everything from The Berlin Wall, to a Fairground ride, a fence, a long bow, etc

If Thames Water have to fix it we could be waiting weeks...
There is indeed a massive hole in the road. Police are looking into it.
Boom, tish!
I don't think I'd fill up at the garage right now....
*sigh*
Doesn't look like it will be mended any time soon.

I think my passion is dwindling
