Alas I won't be there this weekend but if I was I would definitely be trying whatever Mild they have on the taps, I've had some great examples lately, the Oscar Wilde by Mighty Oak Brewery that I had in the Wenlock was absolutely fantastic.
When the White Lion is the best pub on the high road I think things are not looking great, I even went into the Night Owl the other week and they were shutting at 22.30.
I didn't darken the door of Orleans as the last time i was in there I left at 05.30, on a Wednesday, i still get the fear about that one.

I was in Kentish Town last week and it was absolutely thriving, every pub was standing room only, i guess it may be the cool kid to an increasingly corporatised Camden.
I also notice that the braysters are not only incredibly rude to bar staff but do not spread along the bar like normal people, instead insisting on forming a long queue snaking around the pub before finally getting served and haughtily asking "can i get...", how utterly depressing.
I tend to circumnavigate said queue and head straight to the bar, much to the chagrin of the queuing hipsterati, I do hear disparaging comments from time to time but I am yet to be confronted by someone working in PR for a startup charity in Hackney so I fully intend to carry on with my scandalous behaviour.
In saying that I also tend to get served and away from the bar while some bright young thing is still demanding to know which IPA is gluten free and a barman did say to me that in grand scheme of things I add value to the pub because I actually spend money as well as engaging with people which leads me to wonder if, in the grand scheme of things, we do need us hoi polloi luddites after all.
Blimey, well I'm glad it's not just me that was noticing the latest dystopian nightmare, where do these habits even come from, these people need slapping with a large mullet.
