Having waited for phone calls which never appeared for literally years I finally got some redress from Virgin Media via twitter. Worth a go, @virginmedia for those who want to try it. I also alerted them to the existence of this thread.

They've done that to me before, the old book an engineer appointment then cancel it without telling you routine. They never, ever call anyone back. Systematic corporate lying, plain and simple.

Huge fan of Vagabonds, great coffee, even better hot chocolate, nice atmosphere and friendly people. My only gripe is that it's a bit too small, not much they can do about that to be fair although tables outside will help.
